The problem
The owner wanted to know how each store did last week. The point of sale had the data, but not the answer: orders, payments and refunds lived in separate places, across two accounts.
What I built
A command-line tool that pulls orders, payments and refunds from all three stores' Clover accounts and builds an Excel report plus PDF snapshot, year over year and store comparison reports.
The hard parts were the quiet ones. It handles API paging and rate limits, picks up refunds made against earlier days' sales, and splits payments across items exactly to the cent, so the parts always add back up to the total.
The result
Reports the owner reads, with totals that tie back to the Clover terminal and a golden-output test that guards every change. The test data is synthetic, so no real sales data ever goes into the repository.
